Gennadiy Vasilyevich Kotelnikov, 81, of Indianapolis, passed away July 5, 2018. He was born in Kazakhstan, son of Vasilya AleKsandrovich and Ida Tulkop. He attended the Polytechnical Institute in Chisinau, Moldova where he studied Civil Engineering. Gennadiy worked as the Construction Manager for Consturction Services #5 in Chisinau, Moldova. He also served as Border Protection with USSR.
Gennadiy loved fishing and could spend hours at the water. He was quite musical and played the piano and accordian without formal music lessons. Gennadiy played chess, with the strategy of an experienced player. He loved caring for the animals where he worked on his daughter’s farm. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Gennadiy was preceded in death by a brother, Vladimir Kotelnikov.
Survivors include his daughters, Natalya Kotelnikov and Luba Balaban; grandchildren, Sergey Kotelnikov, Misha Balaban, Vlad Balaban, Anna Balaban, Sofia Balaban and Irina Balaban; sister, Roza Schlit and brother, Leo Tulkop.
A Committal Service will be held on Saturday, July 07, 2018 at 12 noon in Carmel Cemetery.
