Fred A. Shelton

Fred A. Shelton, 85 of Carmel, was called home March 29, 2015. He was born in Indianapolis on April 19, 1929, son of Jess and Ethel (Pock) Shelton.

Before retiring in 1984, Fred worked for Indiana Bell for forty years as a lineman. He was a veteran of the US Air Force. Fred was a member Central Christian Church, Carmel VFW #10003 and the American Legion Post #155.

Fred was a man of honor and dignity. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved spending time with family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Hogan Shelton and brother, George Shelton.

Survivors include his children, Mark Shelton and Kathleen Bell; grandchildren, Lindsey Shelton Koorsen and Kyle Shelton; great-granddaughter Abigail Koorsen; sisters, Ruby Moss, Virginia (Dan) Hodgin and Deloris Vogel.

Friends and family will gather on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 from 4-7 p.m. in Bussell Family Funerals, 1621 E Greyhound Pass, Carmel. A Committal Service will be held Thursday, April 2, 2015 at 11 a.m. in Hamilton Memorial Park, 4180 Westfield Road, Noblesville.

In memory of Fred, memorial donations can be given to the AMVETS Service Foundation, 7611 N. Copper Branch Road, Solsberry, IN 47459. Envelopes will be available at the visitation.
