Eunice Dyar Longworth, 88, of Carmel, IN, passed away October 5, 2019. She was born in Seneca, SC, on May 27, 1931, daughter of Jesse G. and Marvin J. Seaborn Dyar.
Eunice worked for Bendix Aerospace Systems Division in Ann Arbor, MI for 16 years, during which time she received her Engineering degree. She also worked with NASA on the Apollo Lunar Surface Experiments Package (ALSEP) for the Apollo Programs. Eunice acquired much experience and was especially pleased to be with Rockwell International in Norcross, GA where she worked on the Hellfire Laser guided missiles for the United States Air Force.
Eunice enjoyed sewing and reading mystery novels. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, being a fun storyteller and making lasting memories.
In addition to her parents, Eunice was preceded in death by her husband, James Longworth in 2009; brothers, William Dyar, Joe Dyar, Frank Dyar and Wade Dyar; sister, Jessie Lee Dyar; and great-grandson, Zachary James Longworth.
Survivors include daughter, Sandra (Michael) McAloon; son, Zachary (Kim) Longworth; grandchildren, Steven (Melody) McCauley, Samantha Longworth, Laura (Sean) Litke and Michelle (Matt) Pheffer; great-grandchildren, Amelia Litke, Nicolas Litke, Miles Litke, Charlotte Pheffer, Daisy McCauley and Sean McCauley; sisters, Julia Huskamp, Ruth Wald, Dueain Byers and Omega Kelly.
A visitation will take place on Thursday, October 10, 2019 in Brown-Oglesby Funeral Home, Seneca, SC from 2:30–3:30 pm. A graveside service will follow in Oconee Memorial Park Cemetery at 4 pm.
