Elizabeth Maureen (Day) Cronin, 78, Indianapolis, was born on August 26, 1939 and departed this life on March 30, 1939. She was one of six children born to Mary Bridget (Quirk) Day and Donald Earl Day.
Elizabeth attended St. Mary’s Academy, Marian College and later ITT Technical Institute where she achieved a degree in computer programming and operations. She worked for the State of Indiana Information Services Division for more than 20 years before retiring in 2004.
Elizabeth’s love for animals began as a young girl and continued through her entire life. She was interested in various animal welfare charities. Elizabeth was devoted to her special dogs Buddy, Smokey and Maggie before they passed away. Joey, her cat survives and will miss her greatly.
In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by brothers, Jim Day and Don Jr Day.
Elizabeth had a remarkable sense of humor and was much loved by her children, Lisa Maureen Cronin and James Michael Cronin who survive her. Other survivors include her brothers, John J. Day and Michael Day, and sister, Linda (Day) Cope.
Family and friends will gather on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 5 pm in Bussell Family Funerals, where the Celebration of Life will begin at 7 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Elizabeth be given to Face Spay and Neuter Clinic.
