In loving memory of Richard Allen Moore, who at the age of 74, departed this life March 31, 2024, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Born to Clifton and Helen Moore on January 5, 1950, in Gilford, New Hampshire, Richard was a man of integrity, warmth, and intelligence, whose life's journey was marked by an unwavering commitment to his family and a distinguished career in engineering.
Richard's professional journey was marked by a steadfast commitment to innovation and service, particularly within the medical sector. His significant contributions to the installation of life-saving medical equipment globally will be remembered by his colleagues and those in the wider medical community.
Richard's love for travel took him across the globe, from driving countless road trips between Indiana and New Hampshire to visiting countries like Russia, Poland, France, and Brazil. He made frequent trips to China, where he met his beloved wife, Yahn Ping.
Outside of work, Richard was a fun-loving and family-oriented individual who enjoyed being outdoors. He was known for his love of gardening, particularly growing tomatoes and tending to his beautiful flowers. Richard was a dedicated participant in the St. Vincent Indianapolis Pulmonary Rehab program, forging lasting relationships with both staff and fellow participants.
He cherished spending time with his family, especially when they visited from New England. Richard enjoyed sharing his favorite meals, teaching his loved ones to fish, and watching his Boston sports teams play. The simple pleasures of a cocktail hour on the patio, the companionship of birds, and the pride of a well-maintained lawn were sources of great joy for him.
Richard's enduring legacy is carried on through his beloved wife, Yahn Ping; his children, Ellen Moore, Andrea Faller (Dan), Eric Moore, and Haoran Wu (Manddie Chen); grandchildren, Delia Cormier, Felicity Faller, and Leon Wu; siblings, Steven Moore, David Moore, Carol Elkins, and Kathy Thayer; and a host of nieces, nephews, and loved ones who were touched by his kindness and spirited character.
The Moore family extends an invitation to join them in honoring Richard's memory at a Celebration of Life to be held on July 20th in New England. For details, please reach out to the family.
