staff continually strives to meet the individual needs
and wishes of you and your family. Our purpose is
to provide comfort as you celebrate and remember
the life of your loved one.

Donna R. Bussell, Licensed Funeral Director, is a graduate of Mid-America College of Funeral Service, Jeffersonville, Indiana. She served as Chaplain for her class while earning her degree. The sixteen years of experience with the former Smith Funeral Home and the existing Leppert Mortuary confirm the continuing desire of Donna’s heart: serving people during their seasons of loss and grief. The creation of Bussell Family Funerals is the result of her closely held dream.

Donna was born and raised in Burlington, Indiana. Her husband, Ronald L. Bussell, is a licensed attorney and the General Manager of Bussell Family Funerals. She has one son and is a pianist who enjoys sharing this talent with an outreach ministry of her home church. Donna is an active member Trinity Baptist Church, Westfield, IN. An auxiliary member of The Gideons International in Carmel, Donna enjoys spending time with her family and friends as well as reading and walking.

Eric M.D. Bell, CFSP, Licensed Funeral Director, is a graduate of Marian University, Indianapolis, Indiana and Mid-America College of Funeral Service, Jeffersonville, Indiana. He previously served as Location Manager for Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Centers in Carmel and Broad Ripple for over five years. He began his career in funeral service at an early age with the Goodwin Funeral Home in his boyhood home of Frankfort, IN. In July 2011 he was invited to become a Partner at Bussell Family Funerals. .

Eric lives in Village Farms in the Carmel/Westfield area with his beloved wife, Erin a Medical Physicist. He is an avid trumpet player, performing at many weddings and also Taps at all Veteran’s services held at Bussell Family Funerals. Eric and his wife Erin are active parishioners at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Carmel, IN. He is a new member of the Rotary Club of Westfield, and The Knights of Columbus. In their free time Eric and Erin enjoy traveling, spending time with their St. Bernard, Gus and touring in their classic 1955 Buick..

Ronald L. Bussell, General Manager, is a Purdue University and Indiana University School of Law graduate. He has thirty-five years of experience as an attorney and continues to actively manage Bussell and Bussell Law Office in Noblesville, Indiana.

Ron is an Anderson, Indiana native. His wife, Donna R. Bussell, is the Licensed Funeral Director of Bussell Family Funerals. Ron is an active member of Trinity Baptist Church, Westfield, IN, The Gideons International, and the Carmel Lions Club. In addition to woodworking and reading, he enjoys working alongside his wife.

Diane L. Smith, Office Administrator, is the widow of Dick Smith, former owner of Smith Funeral Home in Carmel. With years of office experience, Diane is proficient in administrative skills and workplace management.

A Carmel, Indiana native, Diane now lives near Sheridan. She is actively involved in her church, Sheridan Six Points Wesleyan, and is a former member of Carmel United Methodist Church. Diane enjoys reading, spending time with family and friends as well as her beloved cat.

Todd J. Andrews, Service Assistant, is well acquainted with many aspects of the funeral industry. As a young boy, he spent time alongside his father, Glenn Andrews, who worked in the burial vault business for more than sixty years. Following in his father’s footsteps, Todd became a full-time employee and worked his way into management. Having served as a Carmel Cemetery board member, he is the current manager of Carmel Cemetery. He has held this position since 2002 when the cemetery’s former manager, Dick Smith, his friend and the former owner of Smith Funeral Home, passed away.

An Indianapolis area native, Todd married his high school sweetheart, Laurie, and they have two daughters, one son, and a granddaughter. He is an avid Colts and NASCAR fan and enjoys history of the Monon Railroad. Todd and his family are active members of Central Christian Church in Carmel.
